I

In plain English

A company you have never heard of quietly did what everyone expects the big one to do. On 7 July — sixteen days before a US advisory panel backed six experimental drugs called peptides (short protein fragments used for recovery and longevity) — a firm called Precision Peptide began selling them online in all fifty states, with a US pharmacy agreement and the certification a health seller needs to advertise. So the question is no longer whether a legitimate-looking way to sell these can exist before the rules do. One is already running.

Ten days after the vote, the federal rulebook still shows nothing filed.

Medicare's new weight-loss drug programme is thirty-three days old with no enrolment figure published, and we confirmed at the source that it was built to run outside the very records our prediction says to check.

HIMS Peptide Launch

· The move comes from a competitor, not from Hims. The Precision Peptide Company activated nationwide DTC peptide sales across all 50 states on 2026-07-07 — sixteen days before the PCAC vote — on a 503A sterile compounding agreement (2026-06-02) plus LegitScript Healthcare Merchant Certification (2026-06-23). The Skeptic's standing objection has been that no lawful channel exists pre-rulemaking. That objection is now empirically weaker: a compliant-looking channel is operating, with a template any incumbent can copy. The Bayesian takes +0.02 and no more, because the near-dated falsifier is unchanged — an Aug 10 call, eight days out, framing peptides as a 2027 line pending rulemaking. Federal Register still returns count 0 for "bulk drug substances" since 2026-07-01, verified today at day 10.

· First move in six runs, earned rather than decay. The council's named falsifier has always been a 503A peptide telehealth platform reaching affiliate-network standards before Dec 31. LegitScript certification is that standard — the gate networks and ad platforms underwrite against — and a peptide DTC platform now holds it. The falsifier moved from hypothetical to structurally available. The Historian holds the line anyway: peptide affiliate CPA runs 10–30x below GLP-1 telehealth CPA, so a signed partner needs an order of magnitude more conversions to clear 30% of revenue in five months, and Compound has zero. Hence −0.02, not more. Correction to last week's read: the first-party pulse reverses the decline — Katalys payout $600 → $900 on 5 conversions, +67%, clicks down 19%, Embody EPC $8.33. Fewer, better clicks.

· flagged, sixth consecutive run. Day 33, no enrolment figure anywhere. Nothing touches the numerator, and the Bayesian declines to re-price the 2027 extension, which has sat in the prior since 2026-04-27. What today adds is at the source: KFF, fetched at primary source, states that the Bridge is a Section 402 demonstration separate from Part D, that Part D sponsors neither opt in nor bear financial risk, and that it runs to 2027-12-31. Yesterday's unresolvability finding rested on inference; it now rests on a quoted primary source, and it sharpens — the named source is not merely the wrong place, there is no reporting event scheduled at the forecast's resolution date. Historian 0.80 against Skeptic 0.45, divergence 0.35, unchanged.

· The one new primary-source read cuts against the forecast's premise, not its outcome. openFDA drug enforcement returns exactly two peptide records in total — both GenoGenix LLC of Boca Raton, both Class II for "Lack of Assurance of Sterility," both initiated July 2025, one of them GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide) for Injection. Ten days after a WaPo investigation reporting bacteria in ~30% of vials tested, the federal enforcement trail is two recalls from one firm. The Skeptic reads that as why WaPo framed on regulatory failure rather than injuries: the attribution chain a top-5 outlet needs is hard to assemble. Further probability work here is low-value until the rubric lands. Augur pick. The GHK-Cu recall is the augury, and it points at us. Of the two peptide entries in the entire federal drug-enforcement database, one is an injectable copper peptide recalled for sterility — and GHK-Cu is the lead thesis of `skin-analysis`, the one unshipped Ring 1 expansion. Topical serums and injectables are different products and the recall says nothing about the former. But a build thesis whose hero molecule is half the federal peptide recall record should know that before it writes its first safety page. Stoic (Sunday). Three of today's signals are actionable and became work-orders: the patch-alternatives cluster, the feline trial clocks, the Precision Peptide mechanism. One is real and not actionable — Leerink's peptide market sizing moves a share price, not a Compound decision, and re-reading it weekly is anxiety content. The Aug 10 Hims call is the one date worth holding attention for; nothing before it changes what to build. Premortem (rotation: hims-peptide-launch — nearest hard catalyst, not premortemed in six weeks). Imagine Dec 31 and we are badly wrong: Hims never launched peptides at all. What had to be true? The Feb 2026 retreat was a lesson rather than a scar, counsel drew a hard line at notice-and-comment, and the California facility was always vertical supply for approved products. The credible latent condition already visible: FDA staff opposed all seven substances and the Federal Register is empty at day 10, so the compliant path has not opened and a listed company may refuse to walk an uncleared one twice. Implication: 0.92 is near the ceiling here; if Aug 10 is silent on peptides, cut hard.

Resolutions & upcoming

No overdue forecasts. All four pending rows resolve 2026-12-31 or later; nothing resolves inside 14 days. Nothing resolved this week.

One resolution decision is open and ageing — day 9. The WaPo investigation of 2026-07-24 may already satisfy `peptide-safety-incident`. It is a top-5 outlet running a major investigation about peptide injection risk. Whether it counts turns on whether "a major feature on peptide injuries, contamination, or deaths" is satisfied by a piece framed on regulatory failure. Nine days of council probability work on an event that may have already happened.

How Barque got smarter today

  • The falsifier had a name and nobody was watching for it. For six runs the council wrote "a 503A peptide platform reaching affiliate-network standards" as `peptide-affiliate-share`'s falsifier and then never searched for one. It has existed since 2026-06-23. Generalises past this row: a falsifier stated in prose is not a monitor. Any falsifier naming a discrete, searchable event earns an explicit query every run, not a sentence in the counter-narrative field.
  • A correction to my own week. On 2026-08-01 I routed "Katalys payout $450 → $300 on a 45% rise in clicks" to §6 as possible structural decline. The 08-01 pack shows $600 → $900 on 67% more conversions. One week of affiliate data at n=5 conversions cannot separate decline from noise, and I wrote as though it could.
  • Sizing changed a verdict, for $0.013. The pet-longevity cluster went from intuition to a measured no: real volume (`rapamycin for dogs` 1,000/mo KD 18, `dog longevity drug` 590/mo KD 21) but informational intent on every term, which is what actually kills it as an affiliate build. Intuition would have said "decent volume, worth a look." The intent column said no — worth recording which column decided it, not just the number.
  • A press line that must not become a fact. CNBC (2026-07-18) says top-line results for both feline GLP-1 trials are "expected later this year"; the `pipeline.ts` anchor says summer 2027. I did not resolve it and deliberately restated neither date as prose — it goes back to the anchor. Most likely both are right about different trials. Exactly the failure GATE W4 exists for, arriving from the press rather than a writer.
  • Voice calibration. Two of four moved, both on specific evidence rather than decay ticks, and the Skeptic did the work — its two contributions drove both moves. But the Historian's CPA arithmetic has now made the same argument eight runs running. That is either a durable structural insight or an anchor, and I cannot yet tell which.
  • Tier 2 dark for a seventh run. Reddit OAuth still absent. Logging it once here and in §6, then not again until it changes; repeating a known open item weekly is theatre, not learning.
