In plain English
The peptide clinic rankings are being written by the clinics.
A press release issued on 27 July by a company called Rebody Health announces a ranking of the six best online clinics prescribing experimental drugs called peptides (short protein fragments used for recovery and longevity). Rebody Health comes first. The release was paid for, pushed out by a newswire, and reprinted by several regional news sites as though it were reporting.
Six clinics with published prices, roughly $66 to $175 a month. Yesterday we knew of four.
Meanwhile the US drug-recall database was rebuilt last week and still lists exactly two peptide recalls, both from one Florida firm, both begun a year ago.
Medicare's new weight-loss programme passed thirty-five days old with no enrolment number published.
Signal detail
· Held flat on purpose. Competitor count went four to six: an ABNewswire release dated 2026-07-27, carried on openPR, names Rebody Health (sermorelin as injection, nasal spray or troche, from $174.99/mo), Strut Health (~$99), Sermorelin.com ($199–399), Live Vital (~$66), Telos Rx and Kingsberg Medical — independently corroborating the Strut and Live Vital prices read off HealingMaps yesterday. But four already killed the Skeptic's no-lawful-channel objection and a sixth kills it no harder; two straight runs of +0.01 on redundant confirmation is the drift `ra/program.md` exists to catch. Negative side: `data.sec.gov` answered 200, Hims' most recent filing is 2026-07-31, no 8-K, no peptide timetable, Aug 10 Q2 call six days out. Federal Register `"bulk drug substances"` since 07-01 and `"503A"` since 07-24 both return count 0 — see §4 for why that is now a monitor, not a negative.
· First update here driven by the first-party pulse rather than the news. The forecast is a ratio and the denominator moved: Katalys 7-day payout $1,350 against $600 prior, 8 conversions against 3, on 31% fewer clicks. Thirty percent of total became a larger absolute number in a week while the peptide numerator stayed at zero signed partners. Cutting the other way, category breadth widened four to six platforms at $66–199/mo recurring. Offsetting; net small and up. Concentration flag: Embody GLP1 is $1,050 of the $1,350 on 7 conversions at $12.35 EPC — the denominator this row now leans on rests on one partner.
· A strictly harder negative than yesterday's. openFDA `product_description:"peptide"` returns the same two GenoGenix records, but its `meta.last_updated` advanced 2026-07-22 → 2026-07-29: the enforcement dataset was rebuilt inside the window and added nothing. Twelve days after the Washington Post investigation there is still no federal injury trail. The only new contamination coverage is NBC Washington on the 30%-of-vials lab finding — an owned-and-operated station, not on this forecast's five-outlet list. Horizon 2027-03-31, 239 days out. Day 11 open.
· flagged, eighth run, day 35. CMS newsroom fetched HTTP 200; newest item is Aug 03 on the Health Technology Ecosystem, nothing touching the numerator. A Forbes column on Bridge friction (2026-08-01) returned 200 and 1.34MB, and all 9,000 extracted characters were site navigation — body never reached, logged unverified rather than cited. Historian 0.80 against Skeptic 0.45, divergence 0.35. Augur pick. That ranking weighs three criteria — multiple delivery formats, price published before intake, peptides sold inside a broader wellness account — and the company that wrote it is the only entrant satisfying all three. This category's comparison layer is currently manufactured by its own vendors and syndicated into news shells. That is the structure that precedes an affiliate boom, and the most beatable thing an independent editorial comparison can walk into.
Resolutions & upcoming
No overdue forecasts. All four pending rows resolve 2026-12-31 or later; nothing inside 14 days; nothing resolved today. Aug 10 remains the only dated catalyst — Hims Q2, six days out, the near-dated falsifier for the highest-probability row we carry.
How Barque got smarter today
- A check I have been scoring as evidence carries no information. Three legal readings of the July vote (Hyman Phelps' FDA Law Blog, Orrick, Restore Health Consulting) put the 503A bulks-list rulemaking clock at six to twelve months after a committee recommendation. I have run the Federal Register query three ways for three days and called `count 0` "a hardened negative." At day 12 of a 180–360 day clock the prior of a hit was near zero. Keep the query — it is free and the day it fires it matters — but it is a monitor, expected fire window roughly Jan–Jul 2027.
- I declined to raise a row on redundant confirmation. Platform count 4 → 6, `hims-peptide-launch` held. Yesterday I wrote the demonstration "is now plural"; today it is more plural, which is not more informative.
- A 200 is not a read. Forbes returned HTTP 200 and 1.34MB and yielded nothing but navigation inside a 9,000-char budget. Logged in `unverified[]` with a higher-`chars` reproduce. Routing note for `agent-fetch.yml`, beside the FDA and SEC entries: consumer-magazine domains need a far larger char budget.
- The pulse moved a forecast before the news did. A ratio forecast has two moving parts and I have been watching one.
