I

In plain English

Quiet Sunday; the useful work was self-correction.

Almost all the affiliate money we earned this week came from one weight-loss partner — 87 percent — and none from experimental drugs called peptides (short protein fragments sold for recovery and longevity). Fifteenth week running with none. That partner's name also sits on every one of our top fifteen search terms, so the concentration is in our traffic too.

On peptide safety, coverage kept broadening but the thing we predicted — a major investigation by one of five big US news outlets — still has not appeared. We found a near-identical story, two women hospitalised on ventilators, that ran a year ago and triggered none. So we stopped nudging that number up every morning.

Illinois passed a menopause law. We read it: it gives doctors an option, not a requirement.

Signal detail

CVS became a second national retail channel five days after Amazon, removing more of the formulary friction the original row named as its reason for a slow year one. Kept small: the CVS item is SECONDARY-only, and the verified denominator pushes back — on a 3.8M pool, 1,000,000 is 26 percent of eligible in six months, not 7 percent of 14M. CMS silent a thirteenth run. Day 39 on unresolvability: the Bridge runs on its own BIN/PCN rail as a demonstration, so Part D data cannot report it. Flagged on Historian 0.80 vs Skeptic 0.45.

Fifteenth pack with a zero peptide numerator; the cap held at primary. Unlike the rows frozen today, time decay here is evidence: this needs a three-stage chain in 144 days (compoundable → a vendor launches → it scales to 30 percent) and stage one has not started, whereas Hims needs one announcement it has made before. Augur. Six of eight keywords returned no data, including "menopause law by state" — a week after a state signed a law its own governor calls nation-leading. Legislation can be genuinely novel and have no search surface at all. Stoic (Sunday). One actionable signal: the Embody concentration, which §6 carries. Everything else today was market noise — Zoetis' share price, the Novo Dutch injunction, the Lilly/Novo antitrust dismissal, and 41 pet-news items containing almost no pet medicine. Premortem (rotation: peptide-affiliate-share — 144 days out, none on record). It is 2026-12-31 and peptide revenue is 34 percent of affiliate income. Nothing grew: Embody churned in September, GLP-1 payout fell four fifths, and a small peptide line became a large share of a small number. The latent condition is visible today — one partner is 87.3 percent of payout and owns all fifteen top queries. The failure mode is denominator collapse, and 0.88 is priced almost entirely on the numerator.

Resolutions & upcoming

Nothing resolved; nothing resolves within 14 days. Next horizon 2026-12-31 (144 days: `medicare-glp1-bridge-uptake`, `peptide-affiliate-share`, `hims-peptide-launch`), then 2027-03-31. Zero overdue.

Standing operator decisions: the `peptide-safety-incident` rubric call on WaPo 2026-07-24 (day 16); `medicare-glp1-bridge-uptake`'s unresolvable source (day 39).

How Barque got smarter today

  • I froze two rows and moved one, and the rule separating them is new. Time decay is evidence when a forecast needs a multi-stage chain and stage one has not started (`peptide-affiliate-share`, +0.01); it is not when the forecast needs a single act the actor can do in one press cycle (`hims-peptide-launch`, held).
  • The ratchet on `peptide-safety-incident` was real and is stopped. 0.70 → 0.92, most of it +0.01 increments justified by coverage that never touched the binding five-outlet constraint. The counter-narrative field named this three days running and the probability did not respond — the exact confidence-reinforcement drift `ra/program.md` says that check exists to prevent. Writing an objection down is not pricing it.
  • STEP V paid twice before a row was written. (1) ProPublica's RAADFest piece is dated 2025-07-29 — writing it as new evidence would have been a CLASS=DATE defect of exactly the kind the digest charges me for. (2) Illinois SB 3325 makes menopause education an option within an existing requirement, per [the Governor's own release](https://gov-pritzker-newsroom.prezly.com/gov-pritzker-signs-legislation-ensuring-women-and-domestic-violence-survivors-are-seen-and-safe) (HTTP 200), which quotes Dr. Pauline Maki calling it "an incentive… rather than a one-size-fits-all mandate" — while local coverage framed it as new doctor-training rules. Two contradictions found, two fixed.
  • ORDER-DEFECT: one row, already calibrated — `bestpeptideforthat-update-precision-peptide-legitscript-path`, CLASS `DATE,LEGAL,ATTRIBUTION,ENTITY`, SRCTYPE PRESS-RELEASE, worked in full in the 2026-08-05 brief with the STEP V amendment written out verbatim there. Not re-derived; three days left in its window. REROUTE: two rows, both already re-filed on 2026-08-04; none new this cycle.
  • A demand lookup killed a work order, which is the system working. An HRTPICKS ADD for a state menopause-law tracker, drafted off the Illinois signal, is a watch item and not a row: DataForSEO returned 210/mo KD 23 on the one term that answered and no data on six of eight. The 2026-07-30 rule in reverse: that day a dead source silently set priority; today a live one said "thin" and I obeyed it.
  • Firehose has returned 0 matches for 14 consecutive runs. No longer a blip; the listener needs restarting.
